Identify three ways users can be authenticated and give an example of each.
There are three common factors used for authentication:
1) Something you know ( such as password). 2) Something you have ( such as a smart card). 3) Something you are ( such a finger print).
Examples:
1) Something you know: Includes passwords, PINs, combinations, code words, or secret hand shakes.
2) Something you have: Includes all items that are physical objects such as keys, smart cards, USB drives, smart phones.
3) Something you are: Includes any part of the human body that can be offered for verification, such as fingerprints, palm scanning, facial recognition, retina scans and voice verification.
