Why should evaluation be considered at the beginning stages of health promotion planning, not at the end?
The health promotion planning involves development of a plan manage community, stakeholder, timelines, resources, data collection, etc. When data is collected after the program is consucted it needs to be compared in order to analyze and conclude the results of the health promotion programme. So in order to have a clear pricture or correct scientific interpretation we need to have a baasline data which include evaluation at the beginning of the stages of health promotion which can later be compared, analysed and scientifically interpreted in order to correctly determine the success/ failure, effectiveness and significance of the health prmotion program. Hence it is imperative to consider evaluation at the beginning stages of health promotion planning. If evaluations are done at the at the end, we end up with set of observations and not any conclusive results and it essentially becomes a survey than a health promotion programme.
