Intellectual Property: Intellectual property
are those properties which doesn’t exist as a physical object but
has some value. For example design, software, concept etc. they all
doesn’t exist as a physical object but has some value.
Types of Intellectual property:
- Patents: Patents are the permissions which are
given by the government for your new inventions for a specific
amount of time. For example a research paper.
- Copyrights: Copyrights don’t protect your
ideas but it protects how ideas are expressed. For example
programming code, research papers, art, music, etc.
- Trademarks: Trademarks are also a form of
patent in which the words, symbols, sounds, paragraphs are
protected. For example the logo of Samsung, the shape of a
coca-cola bottle, etc.
- Trade secrets: Trade secrets are secret
information used by companies such as systems, devices, formulas,
etc. For example recipes of Domino’s pizza.
- Right of publicity: In which a person has the
right to protect his name, likeness, and persona. For example, I
have the right to protect my name and image so that no one can use
these without my permission.
