As simply as you can but with complete and comprehensive detail, state and explain each of Newtons Three Fundamental Laws of Motion. After you have explained all Three Laws look through the example problems given in the book and come up with and explain an example problem of your own. It must include an explanation of how at least one of Newton's laws is used if not more than one.

Solutions

Expert Solution

First law : A body at rest or uniform motion will remain at rest or uniform motion until and unless an external force is applied on it.

It is the law of inertia. Basically it says that a body tries to resist any change in its initial state. For eg. A book lying on table tries to remain in its place unless a horizontal force on the book surface is applied. If no external force is applied ,the book will remain as such.

Second law : The net external force exerted ovee a body is equal to rate of change of linear momentum.

Eg. This can be verified by peeforming experiment. For instance when a ball collides a bat swing . Momentum is suddenly changed , so a forcw ja exeeted on bat due to ball.

Third law : To every action , there is equal and opposite reaction. These forces act on different bodies so they do not cancel out .

eg. A man standing on floor exerts force on earth (action) ,As a reaction earth ( ground) exerts a normal force on person (reaction).
