Define amorph and give an ABO example.
Amorph mean- combining form
Amorph is a mutated allele that has lost the ability of the parent allele (whether wild type or any type) to encode any functional protein. An amorph mutation is the less of genetic information for synthesis of appropriate mRNA.
AMORPH- A mutant gene that has no phenotypic effect
AMORPH- A gene which have inactivate
EXAMPLE
ABO BLOOD GROUP MEAN- A system used to group human blood into different types, based on the presence or absence of certain markers on the surface of red blood cells. The four main blood types are A, B, O, and AB.
EXAMPLE NO. 1
Codominance means that neither allele can mask the expression of the other allele. An example in humans would be the ABO blood group, where alleles A and alleles B are both expressed. So if an individual inherits allele A from their mother and allele B from their father, they have blood type AB.
EXAMPLE NO. 2
The human ABO blood type is a good example of multiple alleles. Humans can have red blood cells that are of type A (IA), type B (IB), or type O (i). These three different alleles can be combined in different ways following Mendel's Laws of Inheritance.
