4. Describe the urban structure under the Chinese socialist planning system.

The urban planning under the Chinese socialist started after 1977 which developed a long term plan catering the needs of everyone removing inequalities based on income. The socilaist planning aimed to remove all the communist disparities which created barriers among all class of people. So they planned a urban planning where there would not be any classification of residential areas and social composition based on occupation, living standardand and class. Stress was given on the distribution of public fecilities and services equally among people irrespective of their caste and creed or rank. Low costs recreational places in the from of parks, museaums, libraries, theatres, restaurents were planned in every few kilometres for the easy accessibilty of everyone. Besides cheap public transportation services were also provided to its citizens with frequent plying of buses, rails etc. Besides offices, schools, courts, hospitals etc were established in a such manner that people could access it without any hurdle. The main purpose of socialsitic planning in China was to develop community feelings among its citizens by removing all the inequlities and disparities created by the communinst planning which differiantiated the people based on their work and status. The socialist planning also planned to set up 'rural villages' within the urban settins in order to remove the term city and countryside, office workers v/s labourers which created alienation among d themselves duri ng the communist era.
