There are various categories of situational moderators
of gender, Two of them are:
1. situational
ambiguity:
- Situational ambiguity refers to the uncertainity in
situation which can result from contradictory situations which can
be unclear or confusing.
- Ambiguity within a situation can occur due to the
individual differences like their thoughts,genders and their
performance in various situations.
- The more the ambiguity in the situation, the more it
affects the performance in the genders.
- Multiple dimensions for varying ambiguity in a
negotiation situation.
- Decrease in degree of situational ambiguity increases
or strengthens the potential of gender's negotiation
performance.
- Increased situational ambiguity influences gender
triggers.
- Weakens the pull of non gender scripts.
Gender
triggers:
- Promotes Gender related behavioural
responses.
- many different forms of gender triggers.
- Single issue negotiation where one gains and other
looses.
- Multi issue negotiation where multiple parties
gain.
- Men engage competitively in a single issue negotiations
than women causing excessive gender triggers.
- another type of gender trigger: Gender
stereotype.
- It shows the differences in the masculine and feminine
reactions or responses to various situations like their careers,
entrepreneurships etc.
