REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
A request for proposal (RFP) is a formal
document that describes in detail your logical requirements for a
proposed system and invites outsourcing organizations to submit
bids for its development. Research the Web and find three RFP
examples. Briefly explain in a one-page
document what each RFP has in common and how each RFP is
different.

RFP stands for Request for Proposal which is a legal document raised and issues having the logical requirements for the proposed systems and invites the outsourcing firms to submit their bids for the development. The various examples of RFP could be studied below:
1. A business that would want to change the reporting system from a paper based system to a computer based system would put the request for proposal for the software, hardware and the user training that would be required to ointegrate the system into business.
2. Another example is the Federal Railroad Administration would issue the request for proposal to finance, construct, design, operate and maintain the high speed rail system to make sure interested parties would submit their working and prices about the accepting and offering this bids.
3. At last, one last example would be seen a Government agency would issue the RFP for the development of the building and construction project to certain builders for giving their quotes about the construction project and services.
Seeing all three examples about the same RFP, we can see that there is a similiarty existing among all three examples. All of these examples are about how a new system or project would be developed and implemented and thus the interested parties are requested to study the same RFP and propose what prices are they offering to complete the project or system for further development.
The differences that could be seen with the three examples is that in the first example, a nee software system has to be implemented and thus the IT department is required to search for the effective hardware/software system to make sure the objective is achieved. No external participants are involved in this. On the other hand, in other two examples, external participants are invited to raise the bids and give their proposal about the price, development and design of the system/project for better implementation process.
