2.Doctor's order: Meperidine 20mg IM q4h prn for pain. Child is rating pain 8/10 based off the FACES scale. medication label states Meperidine 40mg/ml. How many mL would you give for one dose?
3.Doctor's order: Heparin 3,000units subcutaneously now. Medication label reals 5,000 units/mL. How many milliliters will be administered for this patient?
1. Tetracyline 150 mg PO once daily is the order. Available does is 50 mg / ml. Hence 3 ml to be given per day.
2. Order is Meperidine 20 mg every 4th hourly for pain. Available dose is 40 mg/ ml. Hence 0.5 ml to be administered for one dose,
3. Order is 3000 units S/C. Available is 5000 units/ml. Hence 0.6 ml to be administered.
