In the Enron case, the CEO was found guilty. However, it affected the workers more than it affected him. Would you agree? What are your thoughts on this case and how it ended?
Yes, chief executive officer was found guilty in the enron case but it was affecting the workers more than it affected the chief executive officer because he had already paid himself with the very higher compensation and defrauded with lot of money and he already knew that he was cooking up the books of accounts so he was always trying to offload of the shares in the market also so he was having an adequate amount of money but the workers were highly exposed to any kind of risk and in the case of of bankruptcy of the Enron, workers were the one to face with the job loss.
the case was relating to presenting a rosy picture of books of accounts by defrauding the mark to market basis of accounting and hence the share holders were provided with many of the revenues which were recognised in advance and even if they were not realised and in the long run they all came to haunt this company as it has to file for bankruptcy as it was cooking up its books of accounts with its auditor Arthur andersen.
Hence, I do believe that workers were facing higher amount of problem than the chief executive officers.
