A 16-year-old youth comes into the clinic you are working at and states I hear angels. What would you ask the youth or family to determine if he is showing the early stages of schizophrenia? Provide a rationale for why you ask the question.
1.If the patient said seeing anything that doesnt exist in reality?( Hallucination)
2.Is he now retrieve from his gang of friends? ( Social withdrawal)
3.is he feel like someone tries to harm him? (Delusion)
The early signs of schezophrenia experiences hallucination ie seeing or hearing something doesn't exist in reality.
4.Does he hesitated to attend any social functions or gatherings for the past one month? (Social withdrawal)
5.whether he behaved as mentally down or experienced sadness frequently?( Depression)
6.whether he is showing extreme reaction to situations or irrelevant reactions?( Inability to express feelings)
7. Does he making speech that others can't understand ie irrelevant speech?
8.Did they noticed any change in his sleeping duration?( Insomnia or oversleeping)
9.Did they noticed any drop in academics for the past one month? ( Memory loss)
He may show reduced motor coordination, behavioural changes, cleanliness, emotionaless gaze.
