Which bone(s) is/are located...

Anterior to the proximal end of the tibia?
Lateral to the superior end of the sternum?
Medial to the fibula?

Superior to the sacrum?

Medial to the proximal end of the femur?
lateral to the thoracic vertebrae?

Medial to the proximal end of the humerus?

Distal to the humerus?
Medial to the ilium?

Solutions

Expert Solution

1. anterior to proximal end of tibia: ans.Patella

reason: proximal end of tibia is involved in knee joint formation and apart from tibia there are three more bone in its viscinity- femur(above tibia) fibula(on lateral side) and patella (anterior to it).

2.lateral to superior end of sternum : Clavicles

The superior end of sternum is related to clavicles on both side.

supreior end of sternum i.e. manubrium sterni has clavicular notste.

3.medial to fibula:tibia

as explained in part 1.

4.Superior to sacrum: 5th lumbar vertebrae.

reason: sacrum forms part of pelvis and lumbar vertebrae which forms vertebral column lie jusy above it.

5.Medial to proximal end of femur: acetabulum cavity of hip bone.

reason: femur is involved in formation of hip joint at its proximal end.

6.Lateral to thoracic vertebrae: ribs on both sides.

reason: ribs are attached posteriorly to thoracic vertebrae and anteriorly to sternum to form rib cage.

7.medial to proximal end of humerus: scapula

reason: medial end of proximal humerus i.e. head is involved in shoulder joint formation along with glenoid cavity of scapula.

8.distal to humerus: radius and ulna.

reason: distal humerus is involved in formation of elbow joint along with these two bones.

9. medial to ilium:Sacrum and coccyx.

ilium is a part of hip bone which is attached to sacrum on medial side to form pelvic cavity.

This patient’s ependymoma was located in the tapered caudal end of the spinal cord, which is supplied by branches of the aorta and spinal arteries. Ependymomas in this region are particularly vulnerable to vessel damage due to higher mobility and vascularization, and movement can lead to vessel rupture and hemorrhage, as occurs in this case. In this case, the patient suffered from a sudden onset of symptoms, presumably following hemorrhage. Answer the following questions regarding the loss of motor and...

10. Isle Royale is a small island located in Lake Superior. The island is home to a population of wolves and moose that are held in a delicate balance with one another. In the past, this balance has been maintained. However, the moose population is currently the lowest it has been in many years. The island was home to only 385 moose in 2007, having fallen from 450 in 2006. The moose’s primary predators are wolves. Foxes also feed on...
