In Ecoli, mRNA binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit,

Initiator tRNA enters the P site,

In Ecoli, EF-Tu hydrolyzes GTP,

In Ecoli RF1 recognizes UAG and binds at the A site

Expert Solution

This question based on translation process

Translation is the process in which information present in nucleotide sequence is translate to aminoacid sequence.

Translation process is divided into 3 stages

1) Initiation

2)Elongation

3) Termination

Now coming to the question following events occurs in the given stage

1)In prokaryotes, the shine-dalgarno sequence pairs with rRna

It occurs in initiation stage where 16srRNA having sequence complementary with shine dalgarno sequence recongnize it and leads to initiation of Translation process

2) Translocation

It is the process occurs in Elongation stage where ribosome moves tRNA from A site to P site to allow next codon at decoding center.

3)In Ecoli, EF-Tu delivers an aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosome

This process occurs in Elongation stage where EF-TU GTP binds to aminoacyl-tRNA and transfer it to A site of ribosome

4)In Ecoli, mRNA binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit

This occurs in Initiation stage where ribosome bind to mRNA and were rRNA present in Small subunit of ribosome recongnize shine dalgarno sequence in mRNA

5) Initiator tRNA enters the P site

It occurs in Initiation stage where formyl-methionyl-tRNA which is initiator tRNA enters p site of ribosome

6)In Ecoli, EF-Tu hydrolyzes GTP

It occurs in Elongation stage where it is binds to aminoacyl-tRNA when EF-TU hydrolyzes it changes from EF-TU GTP to EF-TU GDP confirmation change occur it flip and dissociate from aminoacyl-tRNA

7)In Ecoli RF1 recognizes UAG and binds at the A site

It occurs in Termination stage where RF1 recongnize Stop codon UAG and bind at A site it contain GGQ motif which come near peptidyl transferase and activate it which cause break in polypeptide but it can't bind hence move out of riboeome through Psite.

Determine whether each of the events involved in protein synthesis occurs in initiation, elongation, or termination. Initiation Elongation Termination Answer Bank The small and large ribosomal subunits combine to form an initiation complex. The tRNA, mRNA, and new protein are released. The small ribosomal subunit attaches to an mRNA molecule. The ribosome moves down the mRNA strand to the next codon. An initial tRNA molecule pairs with the AUG codon of the mRNA molecule. Amino acids are transferred from tRNA molecules to the growing peptide chain. The ribosome reaches...
