Answer: The use of demographic data have on public health initiatives have several impact. The demographic data contains the information about the age, ethnicity, race, gender, income, marital status as well as education. These data reveals about the the health status of the people. For example, the demographic data of a particular region shows the poverty or low income, so, it can be easily assume from this data about the health status of the people living there. They could be suffering from the various disease and disorder, malnutrition etc. So, the demographic data enable the healthcare professionals and government to take initiative to implement better care and treatment.
Additionally, in the case of the indigenous people, they mostly depends upon the traditional medicine system. They have their own cultural values and beliefs. So, public health workers can indulge themselves to impart knowledge to the people of this group. This will also reduce health disparities.
The demographic data also increases the chances of the reducing health disparities as government can easily locate the area and facilitates the health care system and needs. It also enables to implement the methods and to meet the need of the people regarding their health issues.
The most important demographic data which includes about the education of people and the literacy rate. This is because, if people are educated, they will take care of themselves. It becomes easy to demonstrate the needs and requirements. Educated people have less health issues as due to awareness among them. They themselves are capable to indulge preventive methods.
