Describe the level of specificity in ICD-10 diagnosis coding with an example?
ICD 10 classification is the classification of all disease and health related problems.
ICD 10mainly describes about the psychiatric and mental health problems
For psychiatric and mental health disorders we using the word "F" So this is called as chapter F
For all this category disease we will describe as alphanumeric code F00 to F99
F 00 to F09 :- Organic including symptomatic mental disorder.. ex delirium, dementia and amnesia
F10 to F19:- mental and behaviour disorder due to psychoactive substance use.. ex alcohol, cocaine, cannabies, opiod, dependent syndrome..
F20 to F 29 :- schizophrenia, schizotype and delusional disorders
F30 to F39 :- mood disorders.. in this mainly bipolar mood disorders.. ex mania and depression
F40 to F48:- neurotic stress related and somatoform disorders Ex OCD.panic,anxiety and phobic disorders
F50 to F59 :- behavioural syndromes. Ex psychological disorders
F60 to F 69:- disorders of adult personality and behavior.. Ex eating, sleeping and sex disorders.
F70 to F 79:- mental retardation. This is classified into mild moderate and severe MR.
F80 to F 89:-disorder of psychological development. Ex speech disorder
F 90 to F 99:- childhood disorders. EX attention deficit disorder, hyperactive disorder, conduct disorder juvenile deliquency, seperation anxiety etcc
