sodium chloride 0.9%, 1500 ml

insulin regular iv, 50 unit

fentanyl iv , 1200 mcg (50mcg/hr)

cisatracurim, 2mg/ ml, 240 mg

Solutions

Expert Solution

Sodium chloride 0.9%

Classification... . Hypotonic solution

Indication.. ....... To increase extracellular fluid volume, to treat hypovolumia

Drop/mint....... Total volm ×drop factor ÷ total

Drop factor for regular drip set = 15

Total volm = 1500

Infused over 12 hrs

Drop/ mint = 1500×15÷12×60

= 22500÷720=31 , , , , , , , , amount / frequency = 3 litres twice in 24 hrs

Regular insulin

Classification.....Short acting insulin

Indication. .....given for hyperglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis { dka)

Drop/mint= 50ml syringe dilute 50units and given via infusion pump , drop factor for microset is 60

= 50×60÷ 12×60

3000÷720= 4.1

Frequency .... given for single time

Fentanyl.. . .. Narcotic drug ( opioid)

Indication .. Chronic pain , surgery premedication ,, , , , , also given via infusion pump drop factor is 60 ,,, volume is 50ml because diluted in 2.5ml syringe (50mcg=0.05mg)

Drop/ mint = 2.5×60÷12×60÷

150÷720= 0.20

Frequency.... Given for twice a day

Cisatracurim

neuromuscular-blocking drugs,

Indication..... general anesthesia to facilitate tracheal intubation, for muscle relaxation during surgery , ,100mg given for 1 hr

Drop/mint =100 ×60÷60 = 100
