health nursing started. Florence nightingale trained nurses in the
district nursing concept. in a geographic area they were assigned
and responsible fr the health of the people in the community.
Lilian wald in 1890 is a founder of public health nursing for
emphasis on the community value of the nurse to understand the
problems of the ill and poor people. scope of practice includes
community building, health promotion, policy reform, promote and
protect the health of the population. they have roles and
responsibility as a leader in health improvement and promoting
health equity. public health nurse skills focus on understanding
public health, utilizing science practice, critical thinking,
developing research, using evidence-based research, developing
policies and programs, continuing education as core competencies
they work in community settings.
evidence-based practice in public health has many benefits, that
provide high-quality information, that provide successful
prevention programs and policies, provide more workforce
