Difference between want and desire
- Want is defined as the something which you don't need
absolutely but that will make your life a little better while
desire is defined as something which you wish to have regardless of
your wants and needs
- Want is comparitively less stronger and even has lesser intense
feeling as compared to desire
- Examples of want - sports car , Bunglow etc obviously they are
only luxury items but not necessity
- Example of desire - Sexual appetite
- Explanation of an example -
- If we talk about want - best example for want is when a child
wants a fancy stationary by looking at his or her friend in their
school. At this point of time a child want something which he
doesn't have but this is susceptible to change very quickly. So we
can say that a want arises due to shortage of something which you
don't need absolutely but will make your like a little better.
- If we talk about desire - The best example is when a child when
grows up he or she desire to become let say a doctor , for which he
will study harder and try to make it a reality . Also if we say a
child desire to be a doctor and a child wants to be a doctor makes
a strong feeling of longing which has been there for longer
time.
