When did you become "good" at things such as riding a bicycle, skating, or team sports?
When I was at the age of 4 years I have mastered cycling. My father was the main motivator and he bought me 3 bicycles of different sizes with the intention that I could master them all.
I have learned skating when I was 6 years old. To learn skating I used to visit a skating club in Florida with my father twice in a week. I have also participated in many skating competitions and won a lot of prices.
I have started to participate in team sports like rugby and soccer at the age of 10 years. And I used to participate in many school-level competitions and won prizes.
Did these activities provide you with an opportunity for fulfillment and social approval, or were they a source of anxiety?
These activities did help me to win many social recognitions. These activities helped me to relax as well as rejuvenate my self from humdrum daily routines.
Did you approach these activities with pleasure or shy away from them? Explain.
I always approached these activities with pleasure only. Because, while I was participating in such programs I have gained a lot of social recognition. Moreover, It also helped me to meet different people as well as to create new friendships.
What were your gains in height and weight like in middle childhood? Were they "average" or below or above average?
My gains in height and weight were above average in my middle childhood because I was a regular participant in sporting activities in my school so my daily caloric requirement was also high at that time when compared to students they were not participating in sports. We had a dietitian in our school and as per her recommendation, I used to eat high protein diet which helped me to gain height and weight above than average.
Think of people you know who were overweight as children: Did they "outgrow" it?
Many of my friends were overweight when they were children but after their teenage period most of them worked hard and reduced their weight to normal level.
