Principle of sustainability

TO TRANSITION FROM THIS CURRENT HIGH GREEN HOUSE GASES EMISSION ECONOMIES TO LOW-CARBON AND RESOURCE-EFFICIENT ECONOMIES, GREEN JOBS CAN ACT AS CATALYST FOR THE TRANSITION TO A GREENER ECONOMY.

DESCRIBE WHAT GREEN JOBS ARE AND HOW THEY CAN BE AGENTS OF THE TRANSITION

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer: Green jobs refers to jobs promoting conservation of natural resources and refers to businesses producting goods and services that can benefial to environment. People working in green jobs are called green collar workers. Examples of green jobs are Agriculture, energy trading , environment protection etc.

Green jobs can be agents of transition in following ways :

1) It aims at reduce consumption of water which can save natural resources and can improve recycling processes.

2) Green jobs engaged on processes that creates less pollutions hence, low carbon emission can reduce green house effect.

3) Green jobs can reduce bad impact of enterprises by increasing efficiency of resources and reducing pollution and hence helps in restoring eco system.

4) Green jobs helps in emergence of new sector in economy i.e sustainability sector and renewable resources sector. This play vital role in sustainable development in future.

Hence we concluded that in above way green jobs act as agents for transition.

The gases behave as ideal at low pressure, however, at high pressure they deviate from the ideal behavior. Compare the input power required(in kW)for compressing oxygen gas by first assuming ideal behavior then the real behavior. Take inlet state at 10 MPa, 14°C and the final state after compression is 15 MPa, 127°C. You can ignore the effect of gravity and motion of the system.Assume mass flow rate of the gas as 9 kg/min
