(A) Management simply means to deal with things/people in a
symstematic manner. We manage many things on a daily basis,
starting from the time alloted to complete your assignments to
charting the commercial flights, we come across management on a
daily basis.
FUNCTIONS OF
MANAGEMENT
There are various functions of management, let us see how to use
them while planning for a birthday party on the first on June
2020.
- PLANNING : The date, the venue, the number of
people to be invited, the dress to be worn etc should be planned in
advance. You cannot randomly call or decide, everything needs a
prior plan.
- ORGANISING : Next, you have to organise, book
the venue, order the cake, arrange for food caters etc.
- LEADING : After everything is organised, now
you have to take a lead role in bringing everything to one place
within the stipulated time.
- CONTROLLING : When the items arranged for
reaches the single spot, you have to ensure that everything is
according to your plan. If you find any deviations from your plan
of action, then corrective actions need to be taken.
(B) Levels of management can be classified into 3 - top, middle
and lower.
- Miss Sara is working in the bottom level of management as you
can see she supervises as well as is directly dealing with the
employees.
- Miss Houd is working in the middle level of management ( She is
a department head ) because she is seen dealing with heads of other
departments. It is the middle level of management that is concerned
with inter departmental dealings.
