Hand washing has great importance in maintaining a hygenic health condition and also the hand washing process recognizes the culture of the consumer . It also highlite the personality and helps in the improved health condition.

              HAND WASHING has many significant health benefits including minimizing the spread of Influenza virus, Corona virus and other infestious disease and their pathogens responsible for it. And also to reduce Respiratory infections , preventing infectious cause of Diarrhea and reducing the infant mortality rate at home birth deliveries. Different studies and experiments done by the scientist prove that improved hand washing techniques may lead to small improvement in the length growth in childrens below 5 year old.

   There are five critical times during a day where washing hand with soap is important to reduce the fecal-oral transmission of disease . They include

  1. after using the Toilet (for urination,defaecation,mensttural hygiene)
  2. after cleaning childs bottom (changing nappies)
  3. before feeding child,before eating, before/after preparing food,handling raw meat,fish or poultry
  4. after touching animal waste or handling animals after touching garbage

handwashing should be practiced inorder to prevent the transmission of disease include before and after treating the cut and wound; after sneezing,coughing or blowing the nose.                                      The World Health Organization has "Five Moments" for washing hands in Medical Care.

Effectiveness of handwashing in health care;

           Handwashing helps in reducing the spread of germs,it is better to use antiseptics or handwashes before and after tending to sick person. For controlling of Staphylococcal infection in hospital,it has been found that the greatest benefits from hand cleansing came from the first 20% of washing . Washing with plain soap results in more than triple the rate of bacterial infectious disease transmitted to food as compared to washing with antibacterial soap.

Cultural aspects in handwashing

          Handwashing has the great importance in recognizing the culture of the consumer.Religions also prescribe hand washing for both hygenic and symbolic purposes . Sympolic hand washing , using water but not soap to hand wash is a part ritual hand washing featured in many religions.Religions also prescribe hand washing especialy after certion actions.Hinduism, Judaism, and Islam mandate washing of hands after using the toilet.

Global Hand Washing Compaign is usually conducted inorder to motivate and mobilze people around the world to improve their handwashing habits. Global Hand Washing Day is conducted in OCT 15 .

Marketting

Hand wash products have been gaining traction among consumers as these produts have been considerd to be more impactful for providing deep hand cleaning as compared to other alcohol based disinfectand and sanitizers. Now a days huge marketting for hand wash products to get escape from various germs and to get relive from the disease caused by them .
