CRYPTOGENIC STROKE

Stroke or cerebrovascular accident is a sudden loss of functioning resulting from disruption of the blood supply to a part of the brain. Cryptogenic stroke is a type of stoke with an unknown etiology. Around 15-40% of all ischemic stroke are cryptogenic stroke.

thrombophilia
aortic arch atheroma

RISK FACTORS

young people are at more risk of getting cryptogenic stroke than older people
patients who have atrial fibrilation

SYMPTOMS

numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg especialy one side of the body
face dropping
confusion or change in mental status
trouble speaking or understanding speaking [ slurred speech]
visual disturbances
difficulty in walking
dizziness or loss of balance coordination
sudden severe head ache
