Risk factors of stroke and individuals at greater risk

  • Raised blood pressure.
  • Diabetes.
  • Heart and blood vessel disorders

Individuals having blood clots or heart blocks encompassing coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, etc

  • Increased LDL cholesterol.
  • Smoking.
  • Arteriovenous deformities.
  • Viral Infections or any inflammations like rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Age.

A stroke can occur at any age, however, the risk is more crucial for kids below 1year and grown-ups. In grown-ups, the risk progresses with age.

  • Gender

At earlier ages, men are at-risk than women for stroke. Women's life span is long, and so their risk for stroke. The great risk is also there for women who take birth control tablets or on hormone replacement therapy or even those who are pregnant and just after delivery.

  • Race

African Americans and Hispanic adults are at the greatest risk for stroke compared to white adults.

  • Family history

If anyone in the family is having a history of stroke then the chance would be more.

  • Mental disorders like anxiety
  • Harmful and not healthy lifestyle
