How does the innate and adaptive immune system overlap?
Innate immune system instructs adaptive immune system the right time to generate defence mechanism. It is done by generating changes on phagocyte surface. The interaction between adaptive and innate immune system is done with the help of dendritic cell (phagocytes). The phagocyte displays the protein (antigen) of the infected microbe on its surface, this triggers the adaptive immune system. Also, adaptive immune system is triggered by proteins such as PRRs (Pattern recognizing receptors).
