The suicide rate for veterans is 1.5 times higer than that of general populations. Comparing the rate among female veterans to non veteran adult women the rate is 2.5 times higher.suicide rate are especially higher among older veterans .The major indicators for suicide in veterans is

• Anger, rage, mood swings, and episodes of anxiety and agitation.
• Expressing feelings of having no reason to live
• Increased alcohol and/or substance abuse.
• Self-destructive and risky behaviors like driving while impaired.

Other multiple factors may inceres the risk of suicide. Ie

• Insomnia
• High doses of opioid medication for pain control
• Mental health conditions like anxiety,depression,post traumatic stress disorders, traumatic brain injury.

Use of alchol and substance will increase the risk of suicide. In fact veterans use alchol or abuse drugs over twice as likely to die by suicide than other veterans.

According to a report published by the United States Department of veterans  Affairs (VA) in 2016, which analyzed 55 million veterans records from 1979 to 2014, the current analysis indicates that an average of 20 veterans die from suicide per day.

After coming home from war, many soldiers face physical, mental, and social issues that make them a vulnerable populations .Some of these issues include, but are not limited to: Brain Damage. Depression.

veterans are not only more likely to have suicidal ideation, often associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression, but they are more likely to act on a suicidal plan. Especially since veterans may be less likely to seek help from a mental health professional, non-mental health physicians are in a key position to screen for PTSD, depression, and suicidal ideation in these patients.

In a recent survey, veterans identified suicide as the most formidable challenge they face. Sadly, approximately 22 veterans die by suicide every day. Contributing to this problem, one of the most common mental health diagnoses among veterans returning from the current war theatres is posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is a known risk factor for both suicidal ideation and behavior (DeBeer et al., 2016).

Among male veterans, suicide rates are highest in the younger and older years, and among female veterans, suicide rates are highest in the younger years. However, because the age distribution of the living veteran population is heavily weighted toward middle-aged adults, the resulting burden of suicide, in terms of the number of lives lost.

• A recent return from deployment, especially when experiencing health problems
