What is Privacy? Is there any Privacy for an individual? What issues can occur to an individual if there is lack of Privacy in the information age? Explain.
Privacy is the ability if an individual or group of people to stop sharing or revealing information about themselves from becoming known after a certain extent, when people stop choosing to reveal the information. With the modern day technologies such as internet, social media, mobiles, big-data and others, privacy nowadays for people is a big issue. It is very hard to preserve privacy nowadays as several non-governmental and governmental bodies are also breaching the privacy of the people. Also, individuals, attackers, hackers and other people breach into the privacy of other people for a variety of purposes good or bad.
Privacy is something that if once lost, it is very hard to again recover that, or it takes a very large time to recover and attain privacy after lost. There are many viruses, Malware and programs online that can steal your personal information from your bio-data to your bank accounts and everything. So, you have to be wary and provide permissions to only those who genuinely require the private information and pledge to protect your privacy.
Privacy is very much a right and it is right of every individual or group in every country.
There are many cultures and many countries which think that privacy is not required into people's lives. Privacy of people should be of utmost priority in people's lives in very country. In our country, privacy is very much preserved by our culture and our government.
Yes, definitely people's lives are becoming less and less private nowadays. People however themselves are responsible for this to some extent. Social networking has brought us close but has also made our lives less private. Thus details about ourselves are easily available today on the internet. Where we go, what we love, where we live, how we look, our families etc the most personal questions are there in the social network and the internet. Thus privacy of an individual is very less nowadays. Then again we have got snooper who snoop and hack into the internet and compromise our system to steal private information making it more risky.
Yes it is very hard to protect privacy of an individual nowadays. Data loss and data being stolen which consists of private information which is very sensitive is the biggest issue of the lack of Privacy in the information age. We all are searchable on a simple search engine and all our data is at somebody's monitor. This can lead to various privacy issues and for people who give high importance to privacy it is a nightmare. Privacy is something that if once lost, it is very hard to again recover that and thus it is a huge issue. Health information, personal information, bank information, all about you is private to you, and if somebody who is not meant to, is able to access that, that is a big issue.
