What are the types of appeal characteristics?
Commercial and print advertising use some characteristic to target their potential customers and advertisers use appleal to influence a customers to purchase a products and services.
1) Fear - Fear is negative outcomes that are resulting due to action or inaction. Advertisers use fear appleals to promote an immediate behavior change such as eating healthier or not smoking.
2) Humor - Humor is most effective way of appealing by making consumers laugh and create a emotional link with the consumers.
3) Rational - Rational or logical appeals focusing on the consumers need for practicality and functionality in a product. Advertisers are focusing on the price of products and features and such ads are more explaining the advantage of purchasing the products.
4) Sensuality - Sex appeals capture the attention but never increase the consumption of products. Advertisers are applying this practices to promote the products.
5) Bandwagon - A bandwagon appeals makes the consumers believe they are missing out by addressing the consumers needs to belong.
