what is the causes,signs and symptoms,diagnosis and management of necrotiing enterocolitis
Answer:-
Necroting enterocolitis is a condition in which the intestine is damaged. And the infection may spread abdomen.
Causes:-
This occur by invasion of bacteria in to the body.
* Decrease oxygen and blood supply to the baby, thatcauses to weaken the baby , and decrease fighting capacity for infection may lead to this condition.
* Premature birth:-
* It can occur premature birth babies because they are not enough for fight with infection because of unproper development of babies.
* If the baby is having other intestinal prolems may lead to this condition.
Signs and symptoms:_
abdomina swelling:- because of swollen intestine.
Diarrohea:- due to malabsorption of nutrients.
Bloody stools:-due to swelling of intestine.
Vomittings:-due to malabsorption.
Baby may have fever due to infection.
Breathing problems may develop due to abdominal distension.
Diagnosis:-
Physical examination:-
Abdominal enlargergement should observe by palpating abdomen.
Observe for Abdominal pain and tenderness.
X- ray for abdomen:- to identify intestine damage.and to identify any intestinal fluid.
Stools for blood test:- to identify infection.
Management:-
* Stop breast feeding to the baby.
* Start iv fluids to hydrate baby.
* Start antibiotics to contro infection.
* If tfhe condition is worsen the infection spread to abdomen need to perform sugery to remove damaged tissue.
* Drain is adjusted in abdomen to remove extra and infected fluid.
This disease occur for new born babies . And it needs to treat in early stage to prevent further damage.
