Solutions

Expert Solution

"Domination of the large by the small" in the political process may take place by the way of lobbying for policies and regulations that may favour the small.Generally a small group of businessmen lobbies with the policy makers to make policies that may benefit them more than the public in general which is a larger group .For this they may esort to gifts, bribes , giving funds to parties, support promotions for election to various offices. This way they may tilt the judgement in their favour while taking policy decisions. These businessmen ( small group) may end up dominating the the public(large).

If we take the real- world example in U.S. Economy , it could be of the Arms Producers (like Lockheed Martin , Boeing ,BAE systems etc) which produce defence technology and arms for military ,although for the USA public it will be to their advantage that their arms are sold to US army alone 9 in order to maintain an upper - hand in case of military engagement with other countries, but for these companies it is to their advantage that they sell their technology to other countries to earn greater profits. They will be lobbying for regulations that will help them sell the arms internationally. Thus dominating the opinion of the large with that of the smaller group in the political process.
