Discuss societal attitudes regarding beauty and thinnes. How do these attitudes influence the development of eating disorders?
Body image is a multidimensional construct taht refer to one's perception of and the attitudes about the size and the shape of one's body . It has a both a perceptual component that are referinng to how we see our body size , shape , weight , physical charcterstics , and the performance and movement and an evaluative component , which refers to how we feel about these attributes and how those feelings influence our behaviours . Body dissatisfaction is experienceds when one perceives that their body falls short of tehsocietal ideal in terms of size or shape , regardless of a person's objectives size or shape . These such attitutes give a direct influence on the eatinng pattern of the person which get disturbed and leads to eating disorders such disorders are called as disordered regarding the eating attitudes .
Disordered regarding eating attitudes are rapidlly increasing and shifting , especially among the women . These disordered behaviours reults from the interaction of several factors , including ideal beauty , And a significant factor is the social media , by which the inrealistic beauty ideals are popularized and may lead to these such behviours
Several biologiacal factors have been linked to disordered eating attitudes , with up to the 50% of this eating disordered being described as familiary transmitted . There is a neurotransmitter in the brain that are involved in disordered eating attitudes that leads to eating disorders. Additionally , the hormones have also been linked as factors to puberty , body perception and body concern
