Social Security is in trouble. Most actuaries reckon that unless major changes are made to the system, Social Security will collapse by the year 2035. This problem is a source of endless discussion, (except of course among spineless politicos of both parties). I would like you to go to the Web and find three web sites where Social Security is discussed. Tell me the name of the site, who sponsors it, what sort of information is presented, what you learned, etc.
ssa.gov is the official website of the US social security. This site provides online services and discusses problems related to retirement, disability, medicare enrollment etc.Social security is a retirement plan for all American workers.Qualified retirees get replacement income .The social security and supplemental security income disability programs provide help to people with disabilities.Medicare is a health insurance program and provides help with the cost of health care .However this does not cover long term health expenses and so people may buy medicare private insurance policy as well.
social security.gov/pubs: This is ssa's publication library where online booklets ,pamphlets on important social security topics are available. This site provides publications on retirement benefits, disability benefits, publications on supplemental security incomeetc
social security.gov/faq : This site gives answers to the social security related questions. This site answers questions related to retirement benefits to spouse and families like children and survivors, medicare, disability, supplemental security income ,social security payments ,etc
These sites are sponsored by the government .
