Political action is actions taken by the individual nurse or group of nurses to resolve the issues. The four spheres give the opportunity for nurses to involve in political action. The spheres include workplace, community, government, and organizations. The workplace deals with the issues that affect patient care and the working environment. Community deals with the issues of community health problems. Nurses should address the specific health needs and demands in the community. Healthcare policy should address the needs of the community to live. The government deals with the changes in laws and regulations to perform a better nursing practice. The organization has to implement the changes of policies for a better practice of nurse.
Nurses have to involve in political action for enormous activity and to make the profession more powerful. Political involvement makes changes in health care. For example, I had taken action to control the diabetes patient in my community area. The organization has taken initiatives, workplace provides physical facilities, the government has provided the needed data and community gave adequate support. So I established and controlled the diabetic patients in my community.
