I have this question in my nursing class I just need someone to answer it for me
Reflect on an occasion where you experienced ineffective leadership (doesn't have to be in the hospital/healthcare). What behaviors did they display? What factors may have influenced their leadership style?
Ineffective leadership means leadership that is not able to produce any effective relationship with the employees and effective work in the working environment.
an occasion that i have experienced an ineffective leadership was that when i was working as a teacher in a school. He is using an autocratic leadership style.
The behavior that he displays is that he does not listen to the ideas of the staff, very aggressive, dominating and always shouting to the staff if they dint follow what he wants. His decision is last. he just takes a decision whatever he wants and orders the staff to follow it and never listen to the problem of the staff. This makes conflicts between the staff and the principal. All the staff became unbearable and everyone decided to resign at the same time from the school. This makes a big issue in school. So this is one example of ineffective leadership in the workplace. There are many examples like lack of communication with the staff, lack of transparency, not giving proper direction, etc. The autocratic leadership style is good if used properly.
The factors that influence this leadership style are
- to control the employees and environment
- to complete the tasks on time
- to dominate the employees working
