What kind of Effects does therapeutic play have on
children/pediatric patients?
Therapeutic play refers to a types if plays inculcated in the childrens to rule out any problems. Usually slight to mild problems can be identified and referred to a play therapist or to appropriate healthcare provider to trest the child.The session may last for 30 to 45 minutes with a single child or a group of childrens.
Here the child are given some strategies and cope with the situation
It can reduce the child's anxiety, fear and encourage active participation in the treatment, reduce adamant behaviour among them,interact with others and enable social participation
It can reduce their confusion and childrens too have emotions which can be handled with therapeutic play.
It can reduce the fear of a child who is about to undergo a surgery or procedure I the hospital by reducing their fear level
It helps to overcome the illness and its effects on the body
It gives a positive outlook for the children
It can act as a medium of language as most of the children express their thoughts and feeling while playing .Simply can be termed as universal language among childrens
It can bring a positive change in the treatment line
It simultaneously gives a satisfaction to the parents regarding the level of care given to their child
