Much of what we purchase we do not need. comment on how you feel marketers are successful in pushing us to purchase items we otherwise would not have. Describe an example of a product you were convinced to purchase and explain the approach taken by the company
Marketers are successful in pushing us to purchase items we otherwise would not have by pitching for the sale by formulating ads that appeal to our curiosity, which is done by marketing and creative department. Advertising is used to trigger buying decisions when they are repetitive and have persuasion techniques used in them. Other ways are discounts and promotional offers which induce people to buy what they actually did not want to buy and marketers have/are successfully achieved/achieving the set goals.
Recently I got a new upgraded credit card though I didn’t want to buy it but ended up buying it. I was introduced to the cashback offers, reward points on the purchases made through it as well as discounts on dining at premium restaurants. The approach was simple and it was just to make the product look attractive.
