How did the end of the war (WW II) begin to shape the postwar world?
Post war world was largely shaped by WW2 and its outcomes. It lead to alliance identification among countries. The largest after effect of the WW2 was the cold war situation between US and USSR(Soviet union). These 2 turned out to emerge as the 2 superpowers in the world.
This further Japan became cold to US due to the bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Similarly other allies of the 2 sides found it very difficult to accept peace and thus Cold war situation was a peaceful yet retaliatory answer.
The importance and hold of European colonial empires also reduced tremendously which included the withdrawal of European borders .
Initially there was an economic recession all across the globe due to heavy military costs incurred by the countries. This was eventually reduced by the spending re-routing of companies from military expenses to other economic welfare and growth opportunities in the countries.
