Expert Solution

Motivation mainly comes from the two sources - intrinsic and extrinsic. An intrinsic source occurs when a person is motivated from within when sets goals to achieve then it lasts long and has more impact than motivating from other sources. An extrinsic source arises when an organization develop such an environment that all employees behaves like a self-motivating factor.

Although motivation is more a result of doing something than it is a source to pull from. It’s a result of routine, habit, and doing; however intrinsic motivation may fail to achieve goals if it is not aligned with the situation. Moreover, people become motivated to pursue goals that are respected and valued in our cultural environment, and this motivation is developed through the interactions with people who have already achieved such goals or who help in understanding the desirability and their value, such as older siblings, friends, teachers, parents, role models, or other people with whom they identify. Thus in my opinion it is a result of the situation
