Where does stevioside come from? How is it made? How does it work – in other words, what makes it taste sweet? What are the health benefits of me using stevioside instead of sugar? Are there any health risks associated with its use?
Origin :
Stevoside derived from stevia plant ( leaf extract of the plant species Stevia rebaudiana) .

Extraction:
It is synthesized in the endoplamic reticulum and plastid of the leaves of the plant species (Stevia plants) . It is extracted from the dired leaves and used commercially.

Mechanism:
Stevoside is a glycoside which is react with toungue's taste receptor and transduce the sweet taste sensation.

Health Benefits :
1. Steviostde stimulates Insulin sesecretion from pancreatic beta cell and regulate carbohydrate metabolism.
2. It contains very low amount of carbohydrate (less than 5 gram) and very helpful for diabetic individuals.
3. Stevoside increases weight loss.
4. It reduces hypertension and lower the risk of heart attacks.
5. It has an anti inflammatory action.

It is generally safe to use, but some individuals may suffer following side effects :
