Despite efforts to reduce racial disparities, the evidence remains clear that minorities experience worse health, educational, and social outcomes. After considering the readings for Module 6, what do you believe is the most important policy change the government could make, whether economic, social, political, etc., to close the gaps that exist? Explain.
Health, educational and social outcomes forms the basis of the society. It is evident that the effect of these could bring in significant changes to the economy and various contributions made by the citizens to the economy of a nation. But it is evident that all the sections of the society is not getting the same priority as to availing the benefits of each of the mentioned sectors. Thus, the following policy changes could be implemented by the government so that the gap between the minorities and other sections oft the society would be reduced.
· Minority specific economic programs should be implemented so that they would get the benefit of that particular policy to their category
· Budgetary allocations should be provided for specific minorities and their betterment in the society
· Reservations could be made in educational institutions so that the minorities could get the benefit of educational system of the country
· Sector specific job opportunities could also be provided to the minorities so that their contributions can be made available to the economy
· Business establishments may be provided to the minorities on subsidised scale so as to make them earn a living
· The ethnic culture of the minorities may be prevented and specific opportunities may be provided to express their area of interest which could make better contributions to the economy.
· Futuristic policies may be framed for a decade so as to accomplish an overall development for the minority community in all the sectors
· Minority groups of an economy may be identified and grouped in to various sectors and sector specific programs may be implemented by boosting the contribution of each minority in this regard.
All the above policies may be implemented by the government so that the minorities are brought forward in an economy and their contribution could be realised for the economic development of a nation.
