What can you tell me about being a CFE and all the Role entails?
CFE stands for “Certified Fraud Examiner”. As per term suggests a Accounts and Audit Professional has been appointed to do audit of a particular situations while following standards framed by “the Code of Professional Standards” at the highest level of ethical conduct.
The CFE is a professional being CPA, Internal Auditor or expert of legal cases, engaged though its client to conduct a general audit and any fraud situation related to financial statements of the company.
The role of CFE has been to do Fraud Examination and report according to the appointing authority alongwith prevention, detection, investigation of any activity or situation and resolution of fraud and its related conduct.
The CFE has to plan for Fraud examinations adequately and has to lay down various objectives, strategies and controlling norms within which the fraud examination process will be carried. Finally, a CEF reports its findings to the Appointing Authority or the company and suggestions towards the punishment of the culprits should be provided.
