For studying the genetic causes of disease, for development of diagnostic and drugs, essential for carrying out forensic science, sequencing genomes , detecting bacteria and viruses etc

Disadvantage

it depends on source of dna , sonication can create DNA strand breaks

Function of PBS buffer is to maintain constant PH used in biological research

Trizol is used for RNA isolation from cells and tissues, it works by maintaining RNA integrity during tissue homogenisation, and breaking cells and cell components

RBC lysis buffer is used to break down RBC and this is ideal for isolation of DNA and RNA from bllod
