Briefly explain the association between poor health and socioeconomic status (SES).
Health is a state of complete physical, mental,social and spiritual well being an absence of disease.
* Poor health :
• The poor cannot afford to purchase those things that are needed for good health, including sufficient quantities of quality food and health care.
• The causes of poor health for all over are based on in political, social and economic injustices.Poverty is both a cause and effect of poor health.
• Infectious and neglected sticky diseases kill and weaken millions of the poorest and most weak people each year.
• Poverty is a major cause of ill health and a barrier to accessing health care when needed.
* Socioeconomic status :-
• Socioeconomic status (SES) underlies three major determinants of health: health care, environmental exposure, and health behavior.
• Socioeconomic status, whether assessed by income, education, or occupation, is linked to a wide range of health problems, including low birthweight, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, arthritis, diabetes, and cancer.
• Reducing SES disparities in health will require policy initiatives addressing the components of socioeconomic status (income, education, and occupation) as well as the pathways by which these affect health.
