Solutions

Expert Solution

1- Homeostasis - It is a type of process by which warm-blooded animals are able to maintain the stability in the body by various means like maintaining the normal body temperature according to the external environment temperature. It is the exclusive ability of the endotherms. Another example is the insulin regulation in the body.

Evolution- It is the gradual changes in the development of the organisms during the course or the time. The features which are best suited to live in a particular environment are evolved over the period of the time but this is not regulated to thermal regulation. Hence this option is incorrect.

Reproduction- It is the ability of the organisms by which they reproduce and increase their offsprings. It is a biological process where mating occur and the end result is offsprings. It is of 2 types of Asexual reproduction and Sexual reproduction. It has a limited or no role in temperature regulation. Hence this option is incorrect.

Hence, option b is the correct answer

2-

Producers- Producers are those organisms that prepare the food in an ecosystem. Generally, plants act as producers where they form the food by taking the energy from the sunlight. They coverts the sunlight present in the environment and forms sugar and carbohydrates for themselves. This option is the correct answer.

Consumers- They are those animals that feed on the producers and get energy from them. They do not produce food but feed on the producers and consumers(in case if they are secondary consumers). Hence this option is incorrect.

Decomposers are those organisms that feed on organic materials like plants, animals. They feed on the fresh fallen leaves of the plants and dead remains of the organisms thus help in decomposition they do not convert sunlight into sugar to produce food. Hence this option is also incorrect.

3- Evolution- It is the gradual changes in the development of the organisms during the course or the time. During this process, the diversity of the species increases. The features that are best suited to live in a particular environment are evolved over the period of the time but this is not regulated to thermal regulation. Hence this option is correct.

4- In a scientific study experiment the independent variables are controlled by the scientist by which they see the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable in the case of the control experiment. Hence option D is the correct answer.

5- Biosphere is the place which includes all the living organism and all the ecosystems present in the planet. Sometimes it is also called the planetary ecosystem. This option C is the correct answer.

6- Natural selection is the process in which the best adaptations and favorable traits are selected by nature thus allowing the organisms to survive in a competitive environment. Hence option C is the correct answer
