Carefully explain four (4) ways by which Health Promotion can contribute to Community Empowerment.
HEALTH PROMOTION WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT -.
Health Promotion program and strategies can help in improving and protecting the health of many communities. It can eliminate health disparities, improve quality of life and improve the availability of health care.
1. Health Education - Promoting Health education program and ,compaign by educating the community about the set of actions to faster good health and well-being . To inform people of what they could do to stay healthy ,Enable people to increase to control over and improve their health . Educating people about disease preventing ill health , proper medication etc., Participation of target population in such campaign can help to identify Community needs .
2. Media Intervention -. Social media is also capable of influencing people to change their unhealthy behavior. If social media is combined with geographical Information systems ,it can encourage Interventions capable of improving health status , and also Improve primary , secondary and tertiary Health sector services.
3 . Create Supportive Environment -. Health Promotion strategies focus on family environment , Community work culture and individual behavior and beliefs. Health Promotion ways help to create Supportive environment by making them aware of various state and local government strategies to provide them health facilities at low cost , providing services like primary health care in backward areas , benefits of laws like Affordable Care Act ,FHQC which can reach the most of communities and improve the quality of health care.
4. Social - environmental approach - Addressing the social determinants of health such as access to food , shelter , income etc. Creating environment that support health Promotion.
5. Build Healthy Public Policy - Reorient health services , Providing social justice , equal opportunities to all communities including minorities , immigrants etc . , aware them about their rights , and to see that there is no discrimination for any community to access to health care facilities.
