Question # 1 Separating our personal and professional lives is increasingly difficult, particularly as many Americans are working from home as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Many organizations have had to quickly alter their operating procedures and put practices in place to support employees working remotely. Discuss your view when it comes to working remotely. What types of adjustments have you or your organization had to make to support employees working from home? Are you able to turn work off after hours like some of the companies in the article? If you are essential personnel and required to report to work, discuss how that experience has been for you in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Minimum Word Count: 300 word count per question for initial post.

In a new employee's point of view, he's missing out on a lot of physical networking opportunities and establishing face to face contacts is a challenge as well. There are cases with employees who might face connectivity issues, etc. There are lot of employees who have to be physically present at locations to ensure the work is done. In this scenario, these employees hardly have any job which can be performed from home and they come under the scanner for temporary/permanent layoff as well. In my opinion, work from home might reduce travel expense and save time but has a lot of shortcomings too.

Taking almost everything is the challenge. Integrating data environment with the cloud can be time taking especially if the organization had their own source systems and data warehouses. In short the firms have to face a logistical nightmare to ensure that at least the breakeven is maintained. To support employees who have connectivity issues and train the newer ones are a part of the challenge too.

Turning off work is very subjective and depends on the task. Assuming that the company is rational, they won't expect you to sit all day long even if that's your home. But the strict deadlines could probably bypass that objective and push the employees towards working more. And moreover, when layoffs are imminent the employees will certainly look to stick around the company for a while by complying with any task thrown at him.

Hope this helps. Cheers!
