In 2007, the Medicare Fraud Strike Force was created to provide analytics on data on fraud and work withe the "Office of Inspector General, the Department of Justice, Offices of the United States Attorneys, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, local law enforcement, and others" (Office of Inspector General, n.d.) to prosecute and shut down Medicare fraud. On their website, they list all of the recent actions that they have taken and money recovered. With the creation of agencies such as these, Medicare fraud will continue to be reported, watched, and combated.
How important is this organization in reducing risk?
The Medicare fraud strike force was established in March 2007 ,as South Florida initiative,as an effort to prevent Medicare Fraud and abuse . It is an important organization to reduce the risk of fraud as-.
1. It analyzes the data and investigate intelligence to quickly identify fraud and take action.
2. It shut down Health care fraud schemes and take action against the law - breakers by arresting the criminals and recovered million of taxpayer dollars.

4. Scrutinise the individuals and entities that act as suppliers and provider by using screening measures such as requiring provider accreditation , periodic re-certification and onsite verification reducing the risk of fraud and make sure that these entities comply with the laws
5. Regularly monitor the programs for reducing risk , fraud ,waste and abuse . The teams use data analytics and combined resources of federal, state and local law enforcement entities to prevent Health care fraud.
