Women make up at least half of humanity yet have been politically disenfranchised and economically stifled in the western world up to the Renaissance. How are the differences in gender demonstrated throughout this period? Does the early modernizing world lead to changes in the role of women in society? If so, what are those changes? What trends can we see in the role women have played over time?
Women over time have been looked down upon and treated as inferior gender due to the nature of their roles and society's view since the slavery era; Women are viewed as homemakers. Outside roles were delegated to the male gender based on masculine aspects in riling performance (Lees & Loretta). However, the renaissance period saw alleviation of women's roles and incorporation of various roles at home and outside, especially in industries and modern administrative roles. The society initially was male-dominated and faced high rates of women's dependency; in England, women ruled despite the denial of legal powers.
Over time, women have been faced with challenges that accord them competitive opportunities with the male gender. The need to socially balance the society in terms of education, health, and agitation for gender rights brought together women and the male rights agitators in enhancing equity. The organizations and well-wishers enhance the addition of Acts that protect women by legitimate governments in different parts of the World (Euwals et al., 2011). Some legislators have enhanced gender balance opportunities in the political domain by having nomination positions to enhance gender balance.
