Which of the following organelles packages proteins for secretion outside of the cell? Lysosomes, Peroxisome, golgi apparatus, mitochondria
Protein are translated on free ribosomes present in the cytoplasm and tranported to the Endoplasmic reticulum,a sacs like protein present in the cytoplasm where synthesis of the protein occurs.Remove the sinal peptides and formation of disulphides bonds. In contrast the translated protein in a semi folded form transported to the peroxisome, together with phospholipid also move inside from its synthesis site endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria.
Protein from endoplasmic reticulum is transfer to the Golgi apparatus for postranscriptional modifications, where addition of carbohydrate, lipid, acetylgroup etc. These different process Is called carboxylation, lipidosis and acetylation. Then after protein modify into 3D structure. This protein now transfer to the lysosomes a vesicles detached from the trans Golgi apparatus. In the lysosomes there is hydrolyse enzyme for break down of different compounds but in this protein signal sequence is recognised by the enzyme, this will protect it from breaking.Lysosome transport it to the membrane and secret the protein outside the cell .
