3-year old Shubhdeep tends to use her left hand when he eats. She also uses the same hand when she is coloring in the art center. You have noticed these two behaviors for several weeks. Based on the previous information, Shubhdeep is demonstrating the following:

Questionnaries are used to assess the left handedness , such the Waterloo Handedness questionaire that usaully subjected for this purpose . , Using such questionaire in 3 - year old child , of - course subject to the usual limitation that met in other diagnostic fields and is only possible when taking into account the level of verbal development , reading comprehension and self percepetion .

Diagnosing the left handedness in the Shubhdeep based on the more observation of play and everyday situations.

The initial validation of the hand preference test for the kindergarden , shubhdeep child , which fulfill the following requirements ;-

  • Assessment of the hand preference irrespective of motor ability
  • Assessment of preference via standarized observations
  • Assessment of preference via an appealing test degin which fosters motivation.

For the assessing the left hand prefernce in the shubhdeep , Moreover , the content of classification of the test items into four components movement types and musculature used and two qualities execution . The  movement component compromised ;-

  1. Proximal movement involving arm and shoulder or the axis of the body
  2. distal movement involving the hands and the fingers ( such as child doing arts in art center )
  3. gasping objects and
  4. manipulating objects

The WET test is a general development test for the children aged 3 - 6 . It is based on a social - ecological perspective of development pointing out the importance of social interaction for the acquistion of competencies for example scaffolding . focusing on the enhancement of competencies , The WET assess the actual developmental level of a child in its entire scope .It provides a profile of strength and weakness thus giving assistance in planning the remedial intervention

In order to take into account the special needs for shubhdeep of age 3 years old , the test material , task nd test sequence wre set up as a game . The WET consist of 13 subtest and a parents questionnaire , covering 6 functional areas to development .
